It surely beats the hell out of Eicha…
Oh yes, and these are my favorite Tisha Be’av posts for this year:
- Rabbi Pinky’s Tisha Be’av droshah
- Tisha be’av pickup lines (Frum Satire)
- 9 Av (Daat Emet)
- When was the Temple destroyed (Dov Bear)
- Do you really want Moshiach? (Dov Bear)
- Tisha Beav (Shilton Hasechel)
May we merit next year to have the fast of the ninth of Av be turned into an unorthodox hell of a party!
bwahahahahaahaaa!!!!!! i LOVE it!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAmen!!!
ReplyDeleteHowever, as you know, those who did not mourn for the Temple will not see it rebuilt.
ReplyDeleteSomehow in the last 2000 years even those who mourned didn't see it rebuilt. And somehow survived. Didn't they?
ReplyDeleteIt was just a product of the monarchy anyway to try and centralize and control all worship. A national temple, religion, and god by the monarchy and priestly aristocracy to promote national goals (including the acquisition of Israel). The entire "D" source is just state propaganda. The common folks probably never used the temple, they worshiped (many gods)at home and at local "high places" present throughout both Kingdoms.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous: Are we Facebook buddies already? ;)
ReplyDeleteWhy is the temple to be restored?
ReplyDeleteRambam agreed with the muslims that God gave Jews sacrifices because in the past that is the only worship they knew. When they evolved God revealed "salah" or prayer based worship, which is why the Prophets always ask Israel to move onto prayers rather than sacrifice since its better worship
So what's the point of going back to temple sacrifices nobody really wants?
UK: No, I'm not on FB. I just enjoy your blog.
ReplyDeleteShalmo: true words!
ReplyDeleteApostate: Thanks for sharing that with me! :)
