have been banging away on the "epidemic" of Orthodox Jewish pedophiles. To date, how many have been convicted?

Compare this to the hundreds of thousands of sex offenders registered in the United States.

This is merely new version of the blood libel.

  2. JP: The blood libel was created as an excuse to persecute and murder Jews. Hardly a comparison.

Several people were convicted so this 'libel' is unfortunately true.

And I strongly believe that the only reason why no more people where convicted is because things have been swept under the rug. And you know it.

It's not about the numbers, it is about the secrecy and denial which suggests this is only the tip of the iceberg.

  3. There is some crazy molestation stuff that was/is going on in the Baltimore OJ community. The police were investigating a case a few years back and the officer in charge said he never saw a community cover for their own more than the OJ community.

I do think that religion in general can lead people to a more moral life, but people like JP shouldn't be so ignorant to think it doesn't exist just because there where no convictions.

At the moment, in some countries, murdering Jews is unfashionable so Jew haters have to be satisfied with defamation.

"I strongly believe that the only reason why no more people where convicted is because things have been swept under the rug."

Which is what Jew haters always claim.

Martin Luther wrote in the “The Jews and Their Lies” chapter XII: “They deny just as brazenly as they lie. And wherever they can secretly curse, poison, or harm us Christians they do so without any qualms of conscience. If they are caught in the act or charged with something, they are bold enough to deny it impudently, even to the point of death, since they do not regard us worthy of being told the truth. In fact, these holy children of God consider any harm they can wish or inflict on us as a great service to God. Indeed, if they had the power to do to us what we are able to do to them, not one of us would live for an hour. But since they lack the power to do this publicly, they remain our daily murderers and bloodthirsty foes in their hearts. Their prayers and curses furnish evidence of that, as do the many stories which relate their torturing of children and all sorts of crimes for which they have often been burned at the stake or banished. Therefore I firmly believe that they say and practice far worse things secretly than the histories and others record about them, meanwhile relying on their denials and on their money.”

  5. i'd say that "sweeping things under the rug" is a gross understatement. the sad thing is that for many people, it would be far worse to turn someone in for a sex crime than it would be not to. if they turn a molester in, the victim and his/her family become the guilty party in the community, with threats of excommunication, loss of school scholarships, potential damage on the shidduch scene, and damage to business and personal relationships all because they chose to report A CRIME. having spoken to people who were victims of such unreported crimes, i can tell you that many times, bribery from prominent rabbeim becomes the norm, in order to protect the guilty and to stop the family from going public. these people ultimately accept these bribes because the threat to their own lifestyle i so too much to bear.
